About five years ago, a close friend called me in tears after her son was diagnosed with autism. As a mother and a friend, I wanted to help in any way I could. Her pediatrician recommended tactile, sensory experiences as a form of support, and through that search, I discovered preserved moss. What started as a simple attempt to help quickly became something more. Moss offered not only a tactile, grounding experience, but a deep sense of calm and connection to nature. I was struck by how something so organic and understated could be both soothing and beautiful. That discovery led me down the path of creating my own moss walls and, eventually, Austin Moss Creations. Today, I have the privilege of working with designers, developers, and hospitality teams to bring nature into spaces in a way that is intentional, enduring, and maintenance-free.
